BetterHealthGuy.com: A Site Dedicated to Lyme Disease

Welcome to BetterHealthGuy.com

Thanks for stopping by BetterHealthGuy.com.  Having suffered from two serious and chronic illnesses in my life (or likely one very long one with a reasonable remission in the middle), I wanted to create a means for sharing what I have learned with other people.  Equally important, I wanted to create a vehicle for learning even more about health and wellness from all of you that visit the site.

I've been diagnosed at one time or another with so many different conditions over the course of my bouts with chronic illness that I have lost count.   The list of things that I have been told I may have had includes: mononucleosis, chronic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/CFIDS), Fibromyalgia (FMS), severe food allerges, Leaky Gut Syndrome, parasitic infections, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), heavy metal toxicity, Candida, Western Equine Encephalomyelitis (from a mosquito bite), Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, Bartonella, Babesia, HHV-6, and others.

At some point, you don't know where to turn or what to do next.   Doctors often fail you.  The health care industry is driven by the almighty dollar.  No one seems to know what to do, and you have to take things into your own hands and do everything you can to improve your situation.  If there is one thing I have learned through this, it is that there is always hope.

I don't want to imply that solving the puzzle is easy, but I do think that everyone is capable of notable healing given the right course of action.  I have learned so much on my journey towards Better Health, and I hope that you will take something useful away from your visit and maybe leave something useful in return.

If you are fortunate enough to have good health, my hope is that you will learn some things here that will help you maintain your health as long as possible. You might want to check out the Health Tips section to learn about some things that I believe are critical to living well in a toxic world.

Looking back to when my Lyme journey began after my official diagnosis in 2005, I wish that I had done a better job at keeping a regular blog to more closely follow my journey.  When the web site first went up in 2005, blogs were not as popular as they are today.  At that time, I offered a regular newsletter as a way to provide updates on my progress.  With the re-write of the BetterHealthGuy.com site in 2009, I wanted to incorporate more regular updates and have started a BetterHealthGuy Blog.  The newsletter will continue to be sent out quarterly as well.  I hope you find the blog and newsletter useful.

 

 

Articles

Much of what I do in trying to learn and help others understand more about their chronic health conditions is writing articles.  I write for the Public Health Alert and other publications on the topic of Lyme disease and related issues.  Besides my blog, the articles are a good place to look for the latest information and updates available through the site.  All of My Articles are available here on the site.
